P1 He was out of breathe by the time they got to the stables. He felt very fatigued from all the walking and he made his mind up to sleep here a while, before going back to the castle. He slide the barn door open and let the light shine down the center of it. !2I wonder where the grooms are?!2 P2 A pain throbbed in his abdomen, so he stopped to let is subside before grabbing the cross leads so Meluna could tie Thristle up. !1We should tie him up here, since I don't know what the other horses will react. !2Plus he is a stallion, it would be a mess if any other of the stallions broke out.!2 He glanced to the back of the stable to see Beau sticking her head out to the gate. Her ears pricked forward and her eyes focused on Thristle. !1Be good girl.!1 He was glad to see she was actually in her stall and not lose.

P1. Meluna followed Jacque into the barn. It smelled like horses and hay, she loved the smell. Jacque led her to the cross leads and told her she could tie Thistle there. She did so and patted his neck before leaving him to glance around at the horses there. There was a black horse five stables down and then a spotted mare in the eighth stall. At the end, there was a palomino paint sticking her head out curiously. Meluna, in her curiousness, approached the horse with care. Behind her, Thistle stomped his hooves in a mean manner. She ignored him of course, and inched towards the mare, kindly reaching out her hand.

P2 He helped Meluna hook up Thristle and turned around to see her walking right up to Beau. A bunch of thoughts ran through his mind. !1Meluna!!1 He stumbled down the hall as fast as he could and grabbed her hand right before she put it on Beau's muzzle, backing her up a few steps back. I bit out of breathe from the short distance he ran he said, !1I should..have warned you..She doesn't take well to other people.!1 He straightened himself up and let go of her hand. !1I'm sorry, I....just didn't know what she would do.!1 He awkwardly bowed, !1I'm sorry for grabbing you like that.!1

He turned to see Beau stretching her neck toward Meluna trying to smell her. !2Check this out.!2 This time he gently took Meluna's hand and placed it on Beau's nose. He stood so that her head was over his shoulder and Meluna was in front of him just in case anything happened. !1Well...look at that. She likes you.!1

P1 Meluna was close to touching the beautiful mare when Jacque suddenly called out her name. Then he was at her side, snatching her wrist and pulling her back from the horse, almost stumbling. She blinked at what he said.!1Doesn't like people huh?"She chuckled. She smiled at hi as he released her and laughed as he bowed.!1You have nothing to be sorry for, Jacque.!1 She glanced behind him and saw the mare stretching her neck, as though to get a good look at her. Jacque took hold of her hand, gently this time, and put it to the mares nose. She smiled even more at Jacques statement.!1I love horses.!1She said as she stroked the mares nose. Then she met his gaze. !1I also love to practice shooting arrows. Its a fine sport if you know your stuff.11She tilted her head slightly.!1How about you? Any skills with a bow?A sword perhaps?!1Her eyes sparkled.

P2 He breathed a sigh of relief as Beau didn't preform one of her anger fits. Having confidence she wouldn't do anything Jacques let go of her hand and rubbed it down the side of Beau's face while Meluna asked if he was skilled in bows or swords. He laughed and went into Beau's stall to the corner where his armor and sword was pile up against the wall. He gabbed the swords handle and exited the stall. It felt heavy in his hands which he never remembered it being. !1Bow..I can't say I even know how to hold one, but a sword...a know everything.!1 He lifted the sword and crossed it in front in his body and made an X. Pain erupted in his stomach which made him drop the sword and it clanged on the ground. !1That...wasn't a...good idea.!1 He chuckled.

P1. Meluna stroked Beau's neck as she watched Jacque open and enter the horses stall. His armor had been stashed in a corner at the back of the stall. There she watched as the knight grabbed hold of a magnificent sword and handled it expertly but not painlessly. She made to go to him, but he seemed rather amused by his own foolishness that she laughed and shrugged.!1I could show you a thing or two with a bow if you want.!1The thought thrilled her. Looking at his sword... She didn't much care for them, nor did she like their style. She prefered long distances and a bow provided the perfect experience. She made for thistle.11Come on. I'll show you how to use a bow. Surely, there is one in the armory?!1

P2 He bent down and picked up the sword and stood it against the stall door for the moment. He pondered after what Meluna had said about her teaching him to use a bow. It sounded like a good idea even though he felt using a bow in battles is just a coward thing to do. Many of his men he were killed like that, he was one of the lucky ones that survived. He combed his fingers threw Beau's front bangs, trying to decide whether to agree to not. !2I don't want to hurt her feelings..!2 !1I guess we are total opposites. I would prefer in in your face encounters than a far away battle, but I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to know how to shoot one.!1 He didn't want to hurt Meluna's feelings if he said that he really hated and sort of feared bows. !1We should team up when I'm back to health again and trade a little skill. What do you say?!1 He grabbed his armor off the floor as he waited for her reply.

Meluna stroked Thistles bare forehead as she listened to Jocques reply. When he agreed to let her teach him some skills, her face lifted and she turned to face him.!1Great!!1 She bonded back to his side, clasped his arm in hers and led him to thistle.!1Bows are useful when sniping your enemy. They even come in handy when saving someones life when you wouldn't reach them fast enough.!1 She stopped near Thistle and let his arm go, faced him.11Oh, I forget. Your injuries need healing.!1Her smile fell.!1A bow might stretch the wound when you tighten the string.11She nodded.!1Best to do so when your health is fully recovered.!1 She untied Thistle from the post he stood at and nodded respectfully to Jacque.!1I have to go. We don't want to get into trouble.!1

P2 He straightened the awkward armor in his arm, when Meluna suddenly bonded up to him and hooked her arm within his and started walking toward Thristle. He couldn't really focus on what she was saying because he was shocked at her actions. It was like his head was full of butterflies and they finally cleared once she let go and started to untie Thristle. !2She can't leave yet...She does have her store to attend to..!2 He nodded his head in understanding, !1You won't get into trouble being in here with me. You might if you sneak in here without permission.!1 She smiled knowing she wouldn't do such a thing; she wouldn't even stay and he was giving her permission to. !1You do have to check your store, though, so if you want, go make sure everything is alright.!1 He would feel terrible if someone broke into her store and she was with him.

From the bustling of town folks and the tense atmosphere from the edge between the kingdoms the knight found comfort and quiet surroundings as he drew closer to the stables. He was quite sure this was where his captain would be, what with his love for his horse. A smile graced his tanned face as he peered up at the sky, a bird or two flitting by carelessly. !2Why can't it be this calm all the time..!2

Opening the door slightly in order to slip through with his frame, his neck stretched a bit as he looked about before his eyes landed on his target. Moving forward in long graceful like strides he came to a halt and bowed with respect to the other man. !1Greetings...I hope I'm not intruding Jacques.!1 He gazed past the other male to a women with beautiful features, he glanced between the two with an eyebrow raise and a chesire like smile. !1Hello milady.!1 He heard the snort and the stomp of the horse, he shook his head and reached into his pouch for sugar cubes and some prepared apple slices. !1Don't worry girl, i could never forget about you.!1 He ran his other hand over the horses neck while she graciously ate from the palm of his hand. !1It's still hard to believe she disliked me when we first met.!1 He waited a few more moments after soothingly stroking the patched horse before pulling back and getting to business. He brought his hand in a fist to his mouth to cough in a way to clear his throat but also to make sure the captains attention hadn't strayed. !1I've come for a report, i've overseen the training for the much younger knights, they are learning fast. The kingdom shall prosper in that area. I also took the liberty to check our border lines, all is well that's for sure. And it seems the to-be married couple are even getting along, well that's what I've gathered from the gossiping maids.!1

P2 As he waited for Meluna to reply he fiddled with his armor softening it to put it on. It collected dust from sitting in Beau's stall for a few days. !2I'm lucky this Kingdom doesn't have much crime or it would surely be gone.!2 A familiar voice echoed down the stalls and he looked up to see his right hand man. A smile came to his face seeing that his buddy was in good health, as always. There was never day Denim seemed to be down in spirits, that was truly admirable. Jacques nodded back at Denim as he gave Beau a sweet. He laughed, !1I know. It seems she has opened up to another person as well.!1 He gestured to Meluna. He felt uncomfortable just being in a t-shirt and his brown pants in the presence of Denim, but he didn't seem to notice.

Denim cleared his throat making sure he had Jacques attention and he knew who he was drawing his attention from. He shook his head and motioned for him to continue. I've come for a report, i've overseen the training for the much younger knights, they are learning fast. The kingdom shall prosper in that area. I am glad to hear that, but..!1 His fingers twitched at his side, !1I am afraid out side the borders are getting very active. I am not sure why though.!1 He couldn't wait any longer to change into his armor and what does it matter, both of them had already seen him without his shirt on. He pulled off his jacket and t-shirt exposing his bandaged arm and stomach. He unclipped the metal shoulder pads and unbuckled the neck piece. !2Man..how did I get out of this thing and then buttoned it all back up?!2

P2. Meluna smiled at him and nodded, knowing he was right to suggest she return to the Store. However, as she turned to leave, a man, someone Jacques knew by his smile, came into the stables and fed Beau an apple. She smiled at him when he addressed her accordingly.!1Hello.!1 The two men exchanged gossip for a moment. She smiled lopsidedly at the mention of the king and queen getting along. Meluna had heard other stories, but surely this man knew different. Jacques had known him as Denim, though, and she couldn't recall meeting this man. Must have been his duties keeping him from her store, or she had forgotten his face.
Meluna frowned however when Jacque spoke of the problems outside the borders.!1Let me know what I can do for you.!1She said with a reassured squeezed to his wrist. Then she had to look away, blushing. It was one thing to see him undressed in clinic, but now it was in front of another man. She was quite shaken their moment together had been interrupted, if there ever was a moment. She sighed and went to Thistle, stroking the Palomino's mane before taking his reins, prepared to leave.!1I must go. Oh, I'll take my fathers shirt back if you don't need it anymore.!1She held out a hand for the shirt, eyes on her horse, as to prevent herself from looking at something she shouldn't.

P2 As he slipped on the leather part of his armor and straightened it over his brown pants he heard Meluna say to let her know if he needed help with anything and he felt a squeeze on his wrist, which made him smile greatly. !2That's nice of her but...I can't ask anything that could get her hurt.!2 He watched as she went up to Thristle looking a little disappointed for some reason. !2Could it be because of Denim.!2 He made a quick glance at him before turning to see her head in his direction, but her face still looking at Thristle. 'I must go. Oh, I'll take my fathers shirt back if you don't need it anymore'

He hesitated for a minute knowing that if he gave her the shirt she would be leaving. Reluctantly he picked up the t-shirt and put it in her hand and with it took her own hand and wrapped it around his waist. He gazed down into her green eyes with a smile on his face, !1Don't forgot that you have to show me how to use a bow.!1 He stood looking into her eyes forgetting Denim was there, before finally letting go of her hand so that she could leave.

P2. Meluna looked at Jacques after he had given her her fathes shirt and smiled.!1Thank you!1 Then he had grabbed her hand and brought it around his waist. She may have blushed, she was so sure she had. His eyes stared into hers and she felt wrapped inside his. His smile left her with a gaping jaw and no words.'Don't forget that you have to show me how to use a bow'. She smiled, her lips pulled upwards but her teeth didn't show. When he let go of her, disappointment, fled across her face but she still smiled.11I won't forget,11she promised. She glanced at Denim and nodded to him before turning her back on him to tuck her fathers shirt in a handy saddle bag and mount Thistle, turning him towards the exit and kicking him into a trot. She peered over her shoulder the entire way out o the stables only looking forward when the stables was out of sight. She only dreamed of a moment when he would be in her arms and she in his once more.

As the scene unfolded before his brown eyes he tried his best to hide the smile and the gleam that he held in his smoldering amber like eyes. !2Well...i could always tease them later? But for now we should stick to business until the miss is gone.!2 His smile falter when he returned to attention at the state his caption was in. !1Supplies will always be good for our men. And if it is a bow she can use i think she could be of use out there, healing those that need it on the spot... Though protection will be necessary for any of our people.!1 He had gone to wave but it seemed the maiden had already made her escape. !1So...who's your friend...!1 His smile was teasing as he wiggled his eyebrows but try'd to fight the kiddish feeling. !1Want to put more patrols up just in case and we ourselves can take a look. But we should also be uptight here at the castle as well...!1

At the mention of using Meluna he stiffened, !1Let's..let's hope it doesn't come to that..!1 He finished strapping on his steel shoulder plates and buckled the steel neck plate before slipping on his gloves and boots. He sat down for a moment feeling a bit wiped out from all the moving around. !2J'ai fatigué..!2

He looked up at Denim before realizing he never did get her name. !1Her name is Meluna; she helped me after my....unfortunate tumble.!1 He stood up and rubbed his hand through his hair to try to make it look better. !1We should ask the Lord first before we starting issuing orders.!1 He went into the tack room and grabbed Beau's favorite treat, a carrot, and let her take it out of his hand. !1I would ride to the castle, but I don't want to push my injuries too much.!1 He laughed, !1I would have been back a lot sooner if I hadn't.!1 He patted Beau's neck before heading out the barn and closing the door. !1Let's head to the castle now.!1 He started down the road trying to focus on the task at hand, but his thoughts kept drifting back to Meluna.
