A1 He made his way across his front yard to the big oak tree where he hooked Beau to the rope. He unlatched the saddle hook and slide it off her back before setting it on the ground and taking off her bridle as well, leaving her halter on. !1There you are go girl.!1 He patted her neck while she chewed and licked her lips to get rid of the bit taste. !1Relax here for now.!1 He picked up the saddle and walked to the porch where he set it down and went inside.

A5 He walked through the house to the bathroom and poured water inside the wash bowl. He splashed water on his face and hair before drying him off and heading to his bed. A4 He crashed on the bed exhausted, but he knew he couldn't fall asleep with Beau tied out like she was. He moaned before heading back outside on the porch to sit on the swing. A1 When he came back out Beau was sleeping standing up which made him even more tired. He sat himself on the swing and his thoughts drifted to Meluna. !2I wonder how is she..!2 Before long his head slumped and he fell asleep.

A1. Meluna guided Thistle through the paths by his reins and found a small house soon after. She had dragged her feet here, not caring where she went. Jacques had left her behind, and she was perfectly fine with that. Arriving, at his front door, Meluna paused to look around.
The area was peaceful, not like the noisy town she lived in. She saw Jacques on the porch asleep soundly. She smiled but she didn't want to. SHe stood there for a moment before deciding to wake him up. She left Thistle where he stood and walked up the porch, tapped the captains arm.

A1 He twitched when he felt something touch his arm. !2I wonder how long I have been sleeping..!2 He parted his eyes just enough to see who was standing in front of him and was glad to see who it was. Just the person he wished it would be. With opening his eyes up any further he gently grabbed her wrist and pulled her down next to him before pulling her closer to him so that he could rest his head on hers. Her hair smelled like grass and flowers, but it smelled so good to him. He knew what he was doing was probably not going to set well with the queen, but at the moment he didn't care. He was just glad to have her in his arms and the Council's, even though he was part of the Council.

He finally spoke, !1Meluna...!1 He clenched his fist. !1I will not let them do anything to you.!1 He pushed his hair back as he leaned his head to look in her eyes. Forgetting himself he started speaking in French, !1Vous êtes tres belle et personne n'est va vous faire du mal!!1 With the rush, he brought his head closer to hers and passionately kissed her.

She watched as he awoke from his slumber and grabbed hold of her hand, drawing her down to him and resting his head on hers. She didn't gasp; she didn't try to pull away. In fact, she didn't know what to feel.[CITING text="Meluna...I will not let them do anything to you. Vous êtes tres belle et personne n'est va vous faire du mal!" of="Jacques"]She gasped when he pounded his fist but then she sank into him when he kissed her. She kissed him firmly back, she couldn't help it. He was a captain of the royal guard and she was a storekeeper, but what did it matter? She loved him and she knew he loved her.!1The trail would be set soon.!1She said slowly after pulling away.!1I don't want you to intervene. I will take responsibility for my actions. Okay?!1She caressed his cheek, looking at him fondly. She wanted to be sure that he understood that she wasn't as afraid now as she had been. But then a question came to her mind.!1Are you sure we can make this work?!1She had to be sure.

A1 He felt Meluna lean into the kiss and he did the same. He wanted to this moment to last, but she soon pulled away and he had to catch his breathe. [CITING text="The trail would be set soon. I don't want you to intervene. I will take responsibility for my actions. Okay" of="Meluna"] He cupped his hand around hers that caressed his cheek and looked into her green eyes. He couldn't allow such a sweet women to take the blame when she was only trying to help. He closed his eyes and shook his head still holding her hand. !1I can't allow that. You were only trying to help. How..!1 He didn't dare judge the Queen's decision, but it didn't feel right to him. !2Maybe she will cool down after she recovers her full health!2 Her next question pulled his eyes back to hers, [CITING text="Are you sure we can make this work?" of="Meluna"] He pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. !1I...I will do my best.!1 He knew that wasn't the answer she wanted to hear. He leaned over placing his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. He figured this was the right time to let her know why he was so hesitant. !1A long time ago I was leading a regime into battle. They weren't just troops; they all my good friends. Most of them I trained with me from the very beginning.!1 He hesitated before going on, !1We were ambushed and everyone was killed. The enemy used bows from nearby trees.!1 He grasped sections of his hair in his hands. !1All my friends were lost that day. In order to not lose my heart again, I never gave it over to anyone else after that night. That's the reason I never could bring myself to touch a bow.!1 He looked back up at her on the verge of tears, !1I don't want to lose anyone else I care about.!1 He enveloped her a hug to keep her from seeing his face.

Meluna smiled faintly at Jacques before he spoke to her.[CITING text="I can't allow that. You were only trying to help. How.." of="Jacques"]Meluna watched him as he still held her hand. He pushed a strand of hair from her face and she removed her hand from his face, let it fall down to her lap. He leaned over then and for a moment she thought he was going to be sick. Then he explain what had happened in his past and when he was done, she didn't know what to say.[CITING text="I don't want to lose anyone else I care about. " of="Jacques"]Meluna let him hug her, and she was close to tears.!1Jacques...!1He had been through so much and she didn't know that. SHe waited a few moments before she let go of his hand and slid from his grasp getting to her feet. She caressed his cheek before drawing her bow and holding it out to him.!1Take it.!1She stared at him firmly, saying nothing more than that. For a moment she was silent before deciding to try something else instead. She couldn't help herself. Her hand flew threw the and hit his cheek with a loud strike. She held her bow tightly, her knuckles turning white. Whatever reason he had for making her listen to such a sob story, she understood. But he was looking at this all wrong.!1I didn't ask for a sob story.!1She said sternly.!1I asked if this,!1She gestured between them,!1was a good idea.!1She turned and began to walk off the porch.

A1 He continued to hug her for support until he felt her body tremble. Perhaps she was on the verge. !2Great...I made her tear up as well.!2 She eventually pulled away saying his name and reaching for something behind her. He just blinked when she pulled out her bow and thrust it in his direction telling him to take it. He didn't know what to say or do; he just stared at it like it was some sort of snake that could bite him. He looked down at the ground and opened his mouth to say something when all of a sudden a hand slapped him across the face. His eyes widen in disbelief as his hair stuck out all over the place. [CITING text="I didn't ask for a sob story. I asked if this...was a good idea" of="Meluna"] !2Great a screwed this up before it even began..!2 She turned to go, !1Meluna!!1 In one swift moment, he stood, took the bow from her hands and kissed her firmly before answering !1Yes. Yes, I do believe this is a good idea.!1 He enveloped her in a kiss again, hoping she would forgive him. He wanted nothing more than to keep her safe and happy. He pulled away a little out of breathe and tired. He smiled, !1Est-ce que tu es faim?!1 He shook his head, !1Are you hungry?!1

Meluna didn't flinch when Jacques snatched her hand and twisted her about. His kiss was firm and sincere. He had called out to her, but at first she hadn't answered until he had kissed her.[CITING text="Yes. Yes, I do believe this is a good idea." of="Jacques"]He kissed her again after he said that and this time she wrapped her arms around him and squeezed him to her. He finally said what she wanted to hear. When he asked her if she was hungry, she shook her head, but when she saw his face, she nodded, reconsidering her decision.!1I should probably tend to your wounds as well.!1She added as she moved around him, trailing her hand across his chest. She entered his house and paused in the doorway for a moment. The place was small and cozy but that was okay.A2. She went into the living room and gestured to the chair she saw.!1Sit down, my dear captain, I shall be your servant for the nigt.!1She curtsied and smiled at him.

A1 He frowned when she said she didn't want anything to eat. It was the least thing he could do to repay her. Before he could say anything she was heading into the house dragging her hand along his chest. [CITING text="I should probably tend to your wounds as well." of="Mel"] A chill went up his spine as she dragged her hand across his skin and made his laugh. He glanced to the tree where he tied Beau up to see she was sound asleep standing. !1Sleep good Beau!1 He opened the door and headed in.

A2 He looked up to see Meluna motioning for one of the chairs, [CITING text="Sit down, my dear captain, I shall be your servant for the night" of="Mel"] He smiled but shook his, !1But I really want to cook you something.!1 He chuckled.

A2. Meluna watched Jacques enter the room before she heard what he had said.[CITING text="But I really want to cook you something." of="Jacques"] She laughed as he chuckled. She sat herself down in the chair and clasped her hands in her lap.!1Very well...!1 She looked around for a moment before making herself comfortable by removing her bow from her back and placing it beside the table.!1Tell me...What do you expect for your future?!1

A2 He smiled and nodded his head when she agreed to let him cook for her instead of the other way around. !1You are going to love it.!1 He winked. The only thing as strong as his swordsmanship was his cooking. Remembering his armor on the porch still he turned and grabbed it before shutting the door again. He left the room for a second A4 and placed all of it on the chair in the corner of the room. He went into the chest and grabbed another shirt and through is on after inspecting his wound. It was still purplish and tender. !2If I don't slow down, it's never going to heal...!2 He shook his head and went back into the kitchen area.

A3 As he entered the kitchen Meluna spoke to him, [CITING text="Tell me...What do you expect for your future?" of="Meluna"] !2My future?...!2 !1Well...I never really thought about the future. My only goal was to protect this kingdom. The only thing I really know how to do is protect....and cook.!1 He smiled before reaching on the shelf for a pot and filled it with water. He turned to stove on and started cutting up potatoes and onions. His eyes started to water from the onions, and he wiped them on his shirt. !1...That was before I met you.!1

A2. Meluna watched as Jacques went to another room and came back after grabbing his armor and putting it away.[CITING text="Well...I never really thought about the future. My only goal was to protect this kingdom. The only thing I really know how to do is protect....and cook." of="Jacques"] She laughed.!1I'll know that when I've tasted it. I know your a great swordsman, but cooking?!1She tapped her finger on her chin thoughtfully.!1My father used to cook, but most men...!1She shrugged. To amuse herself, she waked outside to get the bag of coins she had in her saddle bag and walked back in sitting down to count the many coins she had. And then she looked up when he said such words she did not expect him to say.[CITING text="""...That was before I met you. " of="Jacques"] She stood and hugged him before she kissed him gently.!1I love you.!1She whispered after pulling away. Then she sat back down and continued to count her money, humming to herself.

A3 At that moment the water started boiling and he added in a cup of rice before going back to cutting up vegetables. [CITING text="I'll know that when I've tasted it. I know your a great swordsman, but cooking?" of="Meluna"] He chuckled at her comment. She would surely love what he was cooking...or at least he hoped she would. He heard the door open and closed, and footsteps on the flooring heading toward him. Before he could turn around, two arms wrapped around him and a sweet voice whispered in his ear. [CITING text="I love you" of="Meluna"] He leaned his head on hers before she pulled away and sat at the table. He grabbed another pan and placed it on the stove before turning the heat on and throwing the potatoes in. The recipe he was doing required each vegetable to be cooked separately, but he thought he tasted better when they were all cooked together. He threw the onions in and grabbed the last two carrots off the shelf.

Behind he heard the clacking and pinging like coins. Confused, he glanced behind him to see Meluna counting her coins. !2What is she doing?!2 He smiled and all of sudden a sharp searing pain went across the back of his hand. He turned back to see he had sliced the back of his left hand and blooding was getting all over the carrots. !1Dammit.!1 He dropped the knife and gripped his hand before running to the washroom. A5 He dunked it in the water in the basin and it quickly turned to the color of blood. He placed a towl in his mouth so he wouldn't bit his tongue from the pain.

A2. Meluna could smell the food as it cooked. SHe breathed deeply of the scents of vegetables. Then she heard him swear and rose to her feet, turning to him.!1Are you okay?!1 But he had gone to the Basin in the back room. She followed him.A5. He had a towel in his mouth and a basin full of bloody water.!1Jacques?!1She went to him and grasped his hand gently to study the cut. After a moment, she said,!1I can stitch it for you.!1She grasped his wrist and led him out of the room back to her chair.A2. !1Sit down.!1She said as she drew a roll of thread with a needle attached to it from her sleeve. She found a napkin on the table and dabbed at the wound delicately before readying her needle and thread.

A5 He continued to keep his hand in the water to clean the slice. !2I need to slow down.!2 He cursed himself and at that moment Meluna came in with a worried expression on her face. Who wouldn't be after seeing someone almost slice their hand off. She took his hand in hers and studied the cut before saying [CITING text="I can stitch it for you." of="Meluna"] and dragging him to the table. A2 He glanced at the stove and saw that it wasn't quite boiling yet and it would be fine, so he sat down. !2This is great. First time cooking for her and I cut my hand..!2 He felt heat come to his cheek as she sat down and pulled out needle and thread. He looked away and said in a shaky voice, !1You've done this before?!1 He didn't know why he doubted her when he was so full of belief in her to stitch up the Queen's leg. Maybe because it was happening to him instead, and his distaste for needles.

Very short post...

Meluna paused with Jacques uneasiness.!1Plenty of times.!1 She reassured him. She dabbed at the wound a few times before she began to stitch it.!1Just don't move.!1 She worked the needle and thread expertly and made sure she didn't hurt him too much. She worked for a while and paused halfway to clean what blood was left. She should have grabbed a bowl of water before kneeling to stitch the wound, but that was okay. SHe hummed as she worked and by the time she was done, the wound didn't look too bad.!1Wash it off and you'll be just fine I think. It shouldn't scar either.!1SHe said as she cut the thread and placed it and the needle back into her sleeve.

A2 He nodded his head at her statement of doing it plenty of times. Knowing that fact made him a little better, and he kept extremely still like she said. He didn't want to cause anymore damage or make her mess up. With flawless effort she drove the needle through his skin and back through it. By the time she finished his hand was stinging but wasn't bleeding anymore. He watched her wipe the rest of the blood off. [CITING text="Wash it off and you'll be just fine I think. It shouldn't scar either" of="Meluna"] His eyebrow rose, !1You think?!1 He laughed and got up from the table roughing her hair with his good hand. He washed off his hand and wrapped it in a cloth so he wouldn't get it dirty. He through away the carrots he was cutting before and washed the knife and cutting board. !1Well..we won't be having carrots in it.!1 He stirred the onions and potatoes in the skillet and added whole garlics and celery. After the rice was done boiling he turned it off and let it simmer. He turned to Meluna, !1Is there anything you like in particular?!1

Her eyes lit as she looked at him.!1My father asked me that very same question one day.!1She laughed again before continuing.!1I'll eat or drink anything you put in front of me.!1She grinned at him before going to the window.!1It's a lovely night. We should gaze the stars tonight.!1Her mind reeled over one thought, but she couldn't voice it. It was too soon.

A2 He was startled at her sudden laughter. [CITING text="My father asked me that very same question one day. I'll eat or drink anything you put in front of me" of="Meluna"] He was relieved to see it was the similarity between what her father said and what he said than something else. He chuckled, !1Anything? Do you not think that is a bit much?!1 He turned off the vegetables to let them simmer in the juice they created themselves before turning around and leaning on the stove. [CITING text="It's a lovely night. We should gaze the stars tonight" of="Meluna"] He walked over to the window and looked out of it. He could see Beau sleeping under the tree and the stars scattered across the sky. It look beautiful. !1Yes we shall. After we eat.!1 He turned to her and realized how much he had changed since he met her in the Clinic. He was opening up more than what he had before and it was all thanks to her.

He caressed her chin with his hand for a second before turning to the stove and pulling out two bowls. He filled them with rice before covering them with the vegetables and gravy. He placed hers down first before sitting down himself. !1 Bon Appétit!1 He blushed. Whenever he was excited or angry, his french accent became rather heavy. He couldn't wait any longer. It had been at least a day and half without eating which wasn't unusual, but for some reason he was really hungry. Nothing was better than a home-cooked meal.

Ok. xD But Jacques only sees women as people to serve. He doesn't see women that way...except Meluna. Lol. Maybe she could be demanding, cause Jacques would have no choice to follow orders. ^.^

A1. Hazzel walked along the path with nothing on her shoulders and only her weapons for comfort. She carried a small pouch that contained gold and meat left over from yesterdays lunch. She kept one hand lazily over the handle of her sword that clinged at her waist and keen eyes on the lights up ahead. The weather this night was good to her. She paused when she saw two horses resting near the house and found that two people lived here. Hazzel ignored the horses and helped herself to walk up onto the porch and rasp on the door rather roughly, swinging a thick strand of hair from her shoulder. She waited a moment, then knocked again before opening the door and stepping inside.
A2. She found a man and woman sitting down at a table, eating super. Addressed to the both of them, she spoke.!1Pardon the intrusion. I am looking for a place to stay for the night.!1 Food was on the table and it was fresh. Hazzel looked around a moment before resting up against the wall.

A2 He stuffed his face with the ratatouille not bothering to see if Meluna was eating it. He stomach twisted from eating too fast and he had to stop. He blushed again. !1Sorry..!1 He glanced around a bit uncomfortable from the way he was eating in front of her before getting up and pouring them glasses of water. He drank his half way down and filled it up again. He sat back down at the table and started eating again. Not soon after sitting back down a bang on the door sounded and then it opened up roughly and there stood a women in a dress-like black armor and a sword at her waist. He quickly stood up almost knocking over the chair behind him. !2Who is the women?!2 [CITING text="Pardon the intrusion. I am looking for a place to stay for the night" of="Hazzel"] He wasn't sure how to react; the women looked like Arane, but he knew it couldn't be her. For one, she was injured, and 2nd, she wouldn't be asking to stay at his house. !1Umm..!1 He scratched his head and watched as the women leaned against the wall like she owned it. !1Who are you? May I ask?!1

A2. Meluna glanced at Jacques when he came to her side at the window. When he left, she turned to see him at the dinner table and waiting for her. She sat down to eat, Jacques already stuffing himself. She chuckled and took a bit. The gravy was the best part. Jacques had paused in his feast a moment later.[CITING text="Sorry..." of="Jacques"] Meluna laughed and shrugged her shoulders.!2He is quite a man...!2She sighed mentally to herself. She watched him rise and fill two cups with water. Meluna took hers and sipped at hers before watching Jacques eat more from his bowl. Soon after, a woman had pounded at the door and let herself in. Meluna jumped before seeing who it was. At first she thought it was the queen, but she was mistaken. This woman had a weird look on her face and she appeared to be exhausted. Meluna frowned and stoof up from the table after Jacques had.!1There's an Inn down the road from here.!1She said rather harshly and then more politely after swallowing.!1Perhaps the queen will assist you.!1She grasped the womans shoulders and shoved her back out the door before slamming it behind her and returning to the dinner table with a long sigh. Then she had a thought.!1Jacques?!1She twisted her fingers without looking at him.!1Have you ever thought to have children?!1

A2 Before the women could do anything, Meluna was already shoving her out the door and telling her to go to the Inn down the street. He wanted to ask what she was doing and why, but he figured it was best left alone. Whoever the woman was, she seemed to have knowledge of the sword, so she could protect herself if something was to come her way. Even knowing that fact, leaving a women out in the dark didn't seem right to him. He started to open the door back up and speak, but Meluna caught him off guard, [CITING text="Have you ever thought to have children?" of="Meluna"] He was confused at her question and the answer he would have to give. He never thought about having a wife nevertheless having children. He was too involved with his work to let those things fill his head. He sat back down in his chair and stared at his almost empty bowl forming a answer. !1I haven't given it much thought. Well, perhaps I will if the time was right, then yes.!1 He rubbed his hand where he had cut it unsure if that was the answer she wanted. !1What says you?!1
